Adam was born and raised in Memphis, attending Central High School under the tutelage of Bill Hicks.  After a year studying at Art Institute of Boston, he transferred to San Francisco Art Institute, and studied abroad at Chelsea College of Art in London.  Adam graduated from SFAI in 2000.  He has spent the last 10 years as a practicing artist, moving between Memphis, San Francisco, Seattle, and D.C.  Adam has had the chance to show at the Brooks Museum, as a part of their “Brooks Presents” showcase, as well as Tucker Gallery outside Chicago, and Diego Rivera Gallery in San Francisco.

Adam's work is an abstract expressionist reflection on the varied places he's called home, and a search for commonality in their aesthetic.  The images try to remain anchored in a specific space but search for a continuity among their inspiration;  each having enough detail to give you a specific place to be as the viewer, but with vignettes of abstraction to create a personal narrative.  The work seeks to create the dizzying effect of the urban milieu, with an existential duality of being alone surrounded by a peopled freneticism.  Adam tries to make each work come alive with a quiet/noise.
